BFG Characters - Giant Line Up

I'm doing some visdev for Ronald Dahl's The Big Friendly Giant.

My BFG will be like a cute bunny boy. He's 13 /14 years old and Sophie is 9/10.

Well, actually he's only 150 thousand years old. While the other giants are 1 million years old.
They use to have to eat yucky ol' tough dinosaurs before humans came around.
......
And everyone knows dinosaurs be tasting of yucky scaly, bumps and sores.
But in Giant age the BFG is only around 13.
A runt...
and a kind sensitive soul

Taren Guy Fan Art!

No, this isn't art of myself!
I recently stumbled upon an awesome YouTube channel abut a month ago.
Its by this strong beautiful New Yorker who talks aaaaaaalllllll about HAIR!!!
Hair care products, hair reviews, wigs, life, dating. men, and Love.

Growing up mixed, it was hard knowing how to take care of my hair.
Where and what to buy for it or how to treat it.
Therefore, she's been a huge revelation for me. I love her videos! I'm her new biggest fan.
I would make a video response, but I don't like attention, (so as an introvert),
here is some fan art for of her!

And her are the some links to her videos!

HAIR

WARNING! BORING HAIR POST!

So, with me being a sista and all... hair is important.....
And I have chosen to rock my hair short for the time being.
It's been fun. It's been liberating for me as a woman, not to mention such low maintenance.
Unfortunately after 7 months, it still hasn't grown on my boyfriend....

So I wondered to myself, how long will it be until he likes my face again?

Well, hair grows at a rate pf 0.5 inches a month. But when you have curly hair, it curls, and therefore doesn't LOOK like it's growing. The curlier the hair, the slower the appearance of growth. Check the chart.

So according to my scientific hair growth chart and the growth rate of Corinne Bailey Rae's hair....
it's gonna take anywhere from 3 to 5 years for it to just reach my shoulders...

And then ME!

Self Character Design Model Sheets

Had to design a character for Story Class, and nothing's more fun than making fun of yourself.
I did these drawings in September, using old Looney Toons Model Sheets for pose references.

Enjoy!

My new little story - Lighting the Way

"Old Fangs" meets "Little Red Riding Hood" meets "From A to Z-Z-Z-Z"
(With a dash of "Nocturna")

It's a little story about a cute little guy
A young lad, with a strong imagination.

A curiosity that burns brightly and strongly.
A little guy...
... named Gus.
He's given a mission form his loving mother...

But he's afraid of the woods he must go through....

We find out, there is indeed something in the woods...

Dum-Dum-Duuuuuuh!

I still have the rest of the story to illustrate... Part 2 coming soon!

(And From A to ZZZ is from a Chuck Jones Cartoon)

High School Art Stuff

So I'm starting my blog with my High School Art Work..... I really got into printmaking and sketchbooking.

ENJOY

drypoint on plexiglass titled HazyDreams

This is a four print series I did on the different stages of repressed women in society. The first one in the archetype, Bone Woman, the original wild loving ancient spirit of woman.

Here she is wild and content.

This one, my favorite, she is now clothed, conforming, but still wild.

Here she has conformed to societies standards and is repressed emotionally and sexually. The walls around her confiding, cracked and empty.

Atlantis

This zinc etching was about an ancient South American belief that all the vegetables came from a woman who dies giving birth to two twin boys.

This is a drawing about Folklore and the tradition of storytelling.

A sculpture of a fOXY Lady

A drawing about different cultures.

A piece about Relligion

..uhhh....It was just fun to draw.....

A piece I did for the NAACP ACT-SO Competition back in 2007 3ft x 5 ft. It was about how we are all one. We all look alike, though we come from different backgrounds.

An etching about answering the call of the wild.

My final and favorite senior print.
